Erasmus Days at SUAI

Erasmus Days at SUAI

This year, from 15 to 17 October, the Erasmus days are celebrated. Erasmus program is known as one of the most successful programs of the European Union. The name of the program comes from the name of the Dutch philosopher Erasmus of Rotterdam, a well-known opponent of dogmatism. To expand his horizons and gain new knowledge, Erasmus lived and worked in many places in Europe, and after his death bequeathed his entire fortune to the University of Basel. At the same time, the word ERASMUS is an abbreviation that reveals itself as "the European community Action Scheme for improving the Mobility of University Students" (English: European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students).
For the past thirty-three years, the program has provided an opportunity, primarily for young people, to gain new experience and expand their horizons by studying at foreign universities. Starting in 1987 as a very modest mobility program for University students, Erasmus has evolved into a flagship program that attracts nearly 300,000 University students each year. The Erasmus + program launched in 2014 has become much broader: it allows both University students and technical colleges students to study and receive professional training; it includes youth exchange programs, volunteer programs, and teacher exchange programs in all areas of education, professional training, youth policy, and sports. Moreover, not only EU countries, but also other regions, including the Russian Federation, have the opportunity to participate in Erasmus+. Several students and employees of SUAI were able to take advantage of this opportunity and completed training and internships at universities of Hungary, Romania, the Netherlands, Latvia and Cyprus in the framework of Erasmus + mobility agreements. In turn, students and teachers from France, Romania and the Netherlands visited SUAI.
In order not to stay away from such an important and interesting event, SUAI is organizing the celebration of Erasmus days. The 15th of October a photo exhibition and photo contest for participants of the program is opened on - SUAI Mediacenter vkontakte page https://vk.com/guapmedia The 17th of October we are organizing a meeting with students and teachers that took part in the program in the previous years, a live broadcast with representatives of partner universities and student organizations. The meeting will take place at 16:00 at zoom platform and will be broadcasted on Vkontakte. You will also find a number of articles and reviews about participation in the Erasmus+ program in SUAI newspapers and social networks.
