The International Summer School was held in SUAI from 22 to 28 July. It was attended by students from
the North-Western Polytechnic University of XI'an, China, and students and teachers of SUAI.
During the work of the School, students made the presentations about their universities and traditions
of their countries, listened to a number of lectures, learned about the history of Russian cosmonautics,
visiting the museum of cosmonautics and rocket engineering named after V. P. Glushko, and got
acquainted with the unique collection of the Central Museum of communication named after A. S.
Popov. Besides of that, the students visited the Hermitage, walked around the Peter and Paul fortress,
visited Peterhof and other important sites of St. Petersburg.
For Chinese students there were organized lessons of Russian language, and SUAI students had the
opportunity to practice their knowledge of English and Chinese.
We would like to point out the work of our volunteers – students of the Faculty of Humanities and the
Institute of Entrepreneurship Technologies, who not only accompanied our guests and helped them
with organizational matters, but also showed good skills of translation into English.
At the end of the Summer School, the participants were awarded certificates.
For Chinese and Russian students, this School has become a good opportunity to gain experience in
international communication, and we hope that such events will contribute to the expansion of
cooperation between our universities and open up new opportunities for SUAI students and staff.
