SUAI at 2020 Silk Road International Symposium

December 11, 2020 SUAIs Vice-Rector for International Activities Konstantin Losev participated in the 2020 Silk Road International Symposium on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application of Aeronautics and Astronautics, held by BRAIA.

Uniting Aerospace universities and industries from all over the world, BRAIA promotes such cooperation for scientific and commercial benefit by means of ensuring continuous and industry-based higher education.

In the session, the participants discussed joint research issues, but also heard a series of reports on advanced aerospace technologies.

SUAI at Saint Petersburg Committee for Tourism Development Round Table

December 9, 2020 a Roundtable on training tourism experts and creating the St. Petersburg center of tourism competences under UNWTO. SUAI was represented by the Vice-Rector for International Affairs and the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Konstantin Losev. The Tourism faculty-based educational program saw excellent recruitment rates even in 2020.

The Round Table talked on challenges in tourism education, synchronization of industry-based educational programs at different levels and building a linear educational process using new technologies.

The participants discussed creation of the St. Petersburg center of tourism competences under UNWTO, determining its tasks and operation processes. In addition, the experts and professors in tourism, economics, management, law together with city administration agreed to promote cooperation between St. Petersburg and other Russian regions in tourism education.

SUAI at Workshop on Game Theory

December 7th the Faculty of liberal arts and sciences of St. Petersburg University and Dr. Aleksei Savvateev held a Workshop on game theory to bring together researchers of mathematics, economics, statistics and linguistics.

The Workshop transformed into a multidisciplinary dialogue, with many fields of research involved. SUAIs participants Doctor of Economics Konstantin Losev and PhD in Philology Marina Chikhanova, both from the Faculty of Humanities, promoted SUAIs science in the discussion.

Doctor Savvateev spoke about the history of game theory and its application in many well-known disciplines. For example, game theory helped in optimization of road traffic and auction biddings. Both liberal arts and technical disciplines are able to include dame theory components in research and studies.

SUAI Opens Cosmostart Forum 2020

SUAI Opens Cosmostart Forum 2020

The pan-Russian Cosmostart Forum on space technologies started on December 3rd 2020. The studio and online-platform brought together researchers, cosmonauts, students, pupils and spectators from all over Russia.

Opened by SUAIs Rector Yulia Antokhina at the SUAIs Boiling Point Center, the Forum saw online and offline guests during the broadcast.

The Director General of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin, the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Vladimir Kniaginin and other industry and administration honorable speakers talked on tendencies in space technologies and wished success to the participants.

In the next 2 days the Cosmostart Forum will see workshops and master-classes by leading experts and the Art-therapy charity project: development of a spacesuit cover designed with pictures by children ill with oncology.

SUAI at e-Stars 2020 Summit

December 1, 2020 SUAI took part in the 3rd e-Stars Summit, organized by HSE and Coursera global education program.

e-Stars 2020 Summit brought together education experts and university leaders to discuss digital economics issues in international education. SUAIs Rector Yulia Antokhina and Vice-Rector for International Affairs

Konstantin Losev joined the debates on challenges for universities during the pandemic. Among the topics are:

  • Combination of profound and fundamental education facing the tendency of shorter formats of teaching sessions;
  • Efficient managing schemes for digital transformation;
  • Global regional and local changes in educational system under new digital technologies;
  • Key fields to concentrate on for a successful university.

A round table on new vectors of education by Zoya Zaitseva was a headliner of the summit, talking about current criteria for good positions in QS World University Rankings. Year 2020 has modified some of the traditional approaches to evaluation of education, with growing importance of distant training and online educational programs in English.
