SUAIs Students Develop Small Spacecrafts

SUAIs Students Develop Small Spacecrafts

The Institute of Aerospace Instruments and Systems at SUAI and its departments conduct research in projecting and developing small spacecrafts and microsatellites.

The previous decade has made developing and launching satellites an important part of studies at leading aerospace universities. SUAIs Institute of Aerospace Instruments and Systems has partnerships in Russia and abroad to promote research activities by students and teaching staff, supported by world-class experts in space industry.

Students work with advanced ORBICRAFT equipment in order to teach young researchers on how to project a satellite. Similar projects brought SUAI awards and recognition at the WorldSkills Championship.

The research included creating a laboratory complex ensuring onboard signal processing and setting of exterior interfaces.

Open Lecture by University of Genoas Professor at SUAI

December 23, 2019 SUAI welcomed an Italian Professor Laura Salmon with an open lecture for students and teaching staff.

SUAIs Department of Advertising and Modern Communications invited the famous researcher of Slavic languages, literature and translations to present a lecture on Theory of Humour based on works by Sergei D. Dovlatov.

Professor Laura Salmon contributed in translating the whole range of works by Sergei D. Dovlatov in Italian and shared her experience with SUAIs culture studies and linguistics students. The participants found out about difficulties when translating subtle humor scenes and received a fresh look on Russian classical literature.
The meeting ended with discussions and answering questions.

III International Workshop on Language, Music and Computing at SUAI

December 16th, 2019 the III International Workshop on Language, Music and Computing was held at SUAI opened by the Rector Yulia A. Antokhina.
This year's Workshop gather over 100 participants from Russia, USA, Japan and France to discuss language and music acquisition, relationship between music and language training, similarities and differences in understanding of music and language, automatic classification of linguistic and music knowledge, formal models of linguistic and music knowledge.
Key talks of the Workshop focus on Electroacoustic music and music informatics and Sound corpora in music and linguistics.
For the next 3 days the speakers will discuss relevant issues for language, music and IT promoting multidisciplinary knowledge and innovations.
