November 27, 2020 the Association of International students supported by the Government of the Russian Federation held the IV workshop on Lodging and Adaptation Issues for International Students to discuss government initiatives in training international students.
SUAI’s Rector Yulia Antokhina and Vice-Rector for International Affairs Konstantin Losev met their colleagues from leading Russian universities to find solutions on lodging and adaptation of international students during the pandemic. The leaders of Russian international education searched for suggestions to be sent to the State Duma and to the Government.
The new reality under pandemic restrictions brought changes in educational process, migration legislation, and adaptation activities. The participants had to decide how to keep traditions of Russian higher education while remaining compatible at the international market.
Even in 2020 the number of international students in Russian universities increased, stated the experts from governmental science and education structures. The universities received recommendations on individual approach in adaptation, building schedules and creating a long-term education under pandemic restrictions.
