The Department of Airborne Electronic Equipment is one of the leading SUAI’s departments, offering Bachelor and Master degrees and postgraduate and doctorate programs. The Department specializes in Radio-engineering, Radio electronics, Radio communication, Radio-location and navigation, Digital signal processing, IT, Aviation electrical and flight-navigation systems operation.

A glimpse of history

The Department of Radiolocation (the Department of Airborne Electronic Equipment at present) was established in 1946 within the Leningrad Aviation Institute (LAI).

In 1970 A. A. Ovodenko (SUAI president) graduated from this department.

The Department specializes in Radiolocation systems with adaptive antenna arrays (A. P. Sivers, Prof., A. P. Lukoshkin, Prof., A. K. Zhuravlev, Prof.) and Adaptive systems of connection and processing of radio engineering information (M. A. Sokolov, Prof., G. I. Nikitin, Prof.)
