Department 52. Information and Communication Systems

Brief overview

 The Department of Infocommunication Systems is highly experienced in research and development of a wide range of telecommunication systems. The experience gained allows to predict trends in modern and prospective infocommunication technologies. The Department cooperates with the leading manufacturers of telecommunication equipment and conducts advanced research. In the study process students are given a chance to participate in R&D projects with the leading Russian and foreign partner companies. The Department has a number of laboratories equipped with the necessary hardware, software and up-to-date equipment.

 After the Bachelor degree the Department offers the Master degree that gives advanced knowledge in a field chosen by conducting scientific research to improve employment prospects. 

 The postgraduate program is aimed at training both research and teaching staff. The department has prepared 8 PhDs in Engineering.


 The Department collaborates with the Finnish-Russian University Cooperation in Telecommunications association (FRUCT, ). Students can present their projects at the international FRUCT workshops held in Russia and Finland.
